The Tamil Nadu unit of the Centre Of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) recently completed a padayatra (Footmarch) for 10 days. Seven groups with 300 volunteers marched in the padayatra and covered 38 districts with a stretch of 2100 kilometres. The padayatra concluded in Trichy on May 30, also its founding day. The march stressed their 14-point demands against the pro-corporate policies of the union government.
