Gujarat: A Party Called ‘SMART’ Proposes Legalisation of Alcohol
Soumya Shankar from Newsclick talked to Rahul Sharma, who has recently started a new party in Gujarat called 'Smart Party'. An ex- IPS officer, Sharma said that the main agenda of their party in Gujarat is to get rid of alcohol prohibition in the state. He believes, that the revenue generated from the alcohol business, could be used to aid education or get rid of the water crisis in various parts of the state. Being one of the prominent figures behind the Una struggle, Sharma has also shown his solidarity with various movements.
