A few days before the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party President (BSP), Mayawati had announced their electoral alliance in Lucknow. This alliance was termed as a long-term contender and a potential winner! But a few days after the election results were declared, Mayawati announced in Delhi that the BSP is withdrawing from the alliance.
