Chennai Corporation Gives 4000Cr Public Money into Private Hands for Waste Management
The latest tender process of the Greater Chennai Corporation reveals that, it is giving the Solid waste management of all it's 15 zones to the private players. That too for next 8 years with the tune of 4000Cr rupees. Already they had given 3 zones to the private parties, in which malpractices had reported. The employees of the Corporation opposing this privatisation move citing these reasons, and also saying that the trash will be collected based on money in future, rather than looking at social welfare.
