The year 2019 kick started with a mass protest organised by the Kerala government which saw a historic 620 km human chain by over 35 lakh women of the state. On January 1, women of Kerala scripted history twice within 24 hours. Along with that, the beginning of the year saw teachers' and farmers' protest in large numbers. There is evident frustration in the public against the Narendra Modi-led BJP government’s anti-people's policies.
