After claiming that the five activists arrested in connection with the Bhima-Koregaon violence planned to assassinate Modi, the police doesn’t seem to take such a grave conspiracy seriously. The “evidence” of this conspiracy that quickly found its way to the nationalist media outlets and the BJP spokesperson, has not been presented in the court yet. In fact, there is no mention of this “assassination plan” in the remand note prepared and presented in the court by the police. Senior journalist Nikhil Wagle sheds some light on these recent events.
