UP- Shiksha Mitra Demand Regularisation
Over one lakh Shiksha Mitra from 75 districts had turned up for the mahasammelan (mass gathering) at Rambai Park ground, Lucknow. Police, however, pegged the number at 50,000 to 70,000. The ground was filled to capacity, with large crowds spilling outside, to send a message to the ruling party (BJP) in the state and at the Centre that if their service was not regularised, the party would pay in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls next year. One of their major demand is that the Yogi Adityanath-led state govt regularise their services and raise the age of retirement from 60 to 62 years.
