In the evening, a candle march was taken from North Eastern Railway Platform 6 of Lucknow Junction to Lucknow Junction Northern Railway Charbagh.

Central President of NE Railway Men's Congress, Akhilesh Pandey, said, "After many years of struggle, the biggest issue of government employees today has become the restoration of old pension."

Rakesh Kumar, zonal convenor of NE Railway-Front against NPS in Railways, said, "Our main aim is to make restoration of old pension the main issue in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections,

Dr Kamal Usri, National Publicity Secretary of the National Movement to Save Railways, said, "While benefiting the rich and destroying the poor, the present Central government is making the fares of passenger trains the same as those of express trains, and fares of AC chair cars and executive category in all trains, including Vande Bharat, have reduced by up to 25%. Only the employees working in the Railways will not be able to stop the privatisation of Indian Railways, as all the facilities previously provided to the passengers of Indian Railways, including senior citizens, are not available at present. The government has closed them, so to ensure the participation of unemployed youth, students, farmers, journalists, artists, and government employees, we are organising NPS Privatisation Quit India Jan Samvad."
