As India steps into the last day of the 3-week lockdown announced by the Government, it is expected that the lockdown will extended to April 30.

The Prime Minister's Office, in an announcement earlier today said that Prime Minister would address the nation at 10:00 am tomorrow.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi in her latest missive to the Prime Minister has urged him to provide 10kg grains per person to NFSA beneficiaries, including those who may not have ration cards till September. She said that in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, we must ensure that no one faces hunger.

Meanwhile, the Government has stared a call centre to coordinate inter-state transportation of agri-commodities.

In a video conference meeting with chief ministers, a consensus was seen between the heads of the state to extend the lockdown for two more weeks.

In Madhya Pradesh’s Indore a 42-year-old man died due to a coronavirus infection. The death toll in the city has risen to 33, officials confirmed on Monday. With more than 300 cases of infection, Indore is one of the worst hit city in the country.
