‘Centre Punishing Our People’: Jammu Resident
The BJP-led central government stripped Jammu and Kashmir of its special status on August 5, 2019, and split the state into two Union Territories. With this, an unprecedented internet blackout was enforced as well. However, after the Supreme Court's intervention, only low-speed 2G internet connection has been restored in both territories. But as most things, including education, have switched to online mode due to the pandemic, Jammu residents are not able to avail the services due to low-speed internet and they are not happy, they tell NewsClick.
