Central Government Knew Cattle Trade Ban was Illegal: Subhash Chandran
The Supreme Court has stayed the central government’s notification restricting cattle trade in India. The apex court ruled that the stay imposed by the Madras High Court on the government notification would apply country-wide.
The court issued the order while disposing off four writ petitions, one of which was filed by the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), India’s largest farmers’ organization.
In this interview, Newsclick speaks to Subhash Chandran, the lawyer who represented the AIKS in the case.
