BJP's Win a Distant Dream in Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu is a hurdle for the Bharatiya Janata Party, just like the neighbouring state of Kerala. The party is trying hard with several strategies, including a yatra in the name of Lord Murugan, to consolidate the Hindu votes but has been unable to crack the Dravidian fort and progressive forces in the state. The saffron party is in an alliance with the ruling AIADMK in the state which was made possible due to the leadership crisis that emerged in AIADMK after the demise of former CM Jayalalitha. NewsClick presents an overview of the political atmosphere prevailing in the state.
