Will Khelo India Foster a Sporting Culture Among Indian Youth?
In the 2020-21 Union Budget, the Government allocated Rs. 2826.92 crore to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. While there was an increase in funds for the Khelo India program, the Sports Authority of India (SAI), which manages infrastructure and coaching programs for athletes, has to deal with a budget cut, going down from Rs 615 crore in the previous year, to Rs 500 crore.
