SC Collegium Makes Recommendations for Judges to Bombay, Orissa, Gujarat, P&H HCs
THE Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the names of several advocates and judicial officers for their appointment as judges to the Bombay, Orissa, Gujarat and Punjab and Haryana High Courts.
Four judicial officers – A.L. Pansare, S.C. More, U.S. Joshi-Phalke and B.P. Deshpande – have been recommended for elevation to the Bombay High Court.
For the Orissa High Court, the Collegium has recommended the names of two judicial officers and two advocates for high court judgeship. Aditya Kumar Mohapatra and Mruganka Sekhar Sahoo are in the advocates category, while Radha Krishna Pattanaik and Sashikanta Mishra are judicial officers.
A total of seven advocates have been recommended for judgeship at Gujarat High Court. They are Mauna Manish Bhatt, Samir J. Dave, Hemant M. Prachchhak, Sandeep N. Bhatt, Aniruddha Pradyumna Mayee, Niral Rashmikant Mehta and Nisha Mahendrabhai Thakore.
Besides, the Collegium has recommended the name of advocate Sandeep Moudgil as judge in the Punjab & Haryana High Court.
The Collegium comprises Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana, and Justices U.U. Lalit and A.M. Khanwilkar.
