A day after President’s Rule was imposed in Maharashta, three parties including Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party have speeded up the process to stake claim for forming a government in the state.
On Wednesday, November 13, NCP formed a committee to prepare a common minimum program (CMP) with Congress. As per the statement by both parties yesterday, the joint CMP will be worked out by the Congress and NCP first, and later they will discuss this with Shiv Sena. Ajit Pawar, Jayant Patil, Chhagan Bhujbal, Dhananjay Munde and Nawab Malik will be part of this committee.
At the same time, Congress leaders including state Congress president Balasaheb Thorat met Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in a five-star hotel in Mumbai. They discussed the primary issues of forming an alliance. Congress assured Thackeray that they are positive of joining hands.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena, too, has expressed its concern for a common minimum program. Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut who was discharged from hospital after his Angioplasty said that the meeting between all three parties regarding CMP will be held soon.
Reportedly, issues like farmers loan waiver, quick decision on government recruitment, restructuring of loans given to small and medium scale industries, crop loan scheme's effective implementation and immediate decisions over pending projects of low scale housing will get prominent space in the CMP.
