They Kicked, Punched and Tore My Clothes in the Name of Ram, Says Swami Agnivesh
Social activist Swami Swami Agnivesh was attacked by a Lynch mob allegedly comprising members of the ruling BJP's youth wing – the ABVP, and the RSS on July 17, while he was on a visit to Pakur district of Jharkhand. He alleged that there was no police present at the venue, and the local SP and the district magistrate did not pay heed to his request to come to the spot. Addressing the media in Ranchi, he said that attacking someone in the name of Ram is aimed at maligning the Hindu religion and culture.
