Sonam Wangchuck's Struggle for Ladakh’s Ecology, 6th Schedule
Social activist and scientist Sonam Wangchuck is sitting on a fast unto death along with many others at Ladakh Bhawan in Delhi. Friday is the sixth day of his fast. He reached Delhi peacefully from Ladakh on September 1 with about 150 people. They are demanding the inclusion of the Union Territory in the Sixth Schedule, as well as saving the state's cultural and environmental heritage.
As soon as Wangchuk, who walked from Ladakh with his people, reached the Delhi border on October 1, the police took him into custody and did not allow him to carry out the peaceful protest in the Capital. Since then, all of them are on fast in Ladakh Bhawan itself. Watch NewsClick's report.
