Act (UAPA) has significantly increased since the repeal of Article 370 in August 2019.These rules have led to the detention of numerous Kashmiri men, who are now being incarcerated in prisons outside of Kashmir.People detained under these laws have drawn debate and criticism, and numerous human rights organisations have voiced concerns about their arbitrary application and abuse.The misery and challenges that families of detainees experience have been made worse by the expense of travelling to visit family members who are being held in prisons outside of Kashmir. Kamran Yousuf talks to two such families for this report from Kashmir.
