The mighty arm of the judiciary in Gujarat was quick to smite former Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for “defaming” the Modi surname and its “link” with corruption. But, the arm seems to have been paralysed, when came to touching some Hindutva proponents accused of bloodshed during the 2002 Gujarat riots – some of who seem to have become mightier than the law under the current regime. Recall, that a special SIT court in Ahmedabad has acquitted all 67 accused in the Naroda Gam massacre case, including former BJP MLA Maya Kodnani, ex-Bajrang Dal leader Babu Babu Bajrangi and Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Jaydeep Patel. The riots led to the killing of 11 members of the Muslim community.
