453 High Court Judge Posts Vacant; 4 HCs Have No Regular Chief Justice: Centre Informs Parliament
The Central Government Thursday informed Parliament that there were a total of 453 vacancies of judges in 25 high courts across the country.
The Allahabad High Court had 66 vacancies against the sanctioned strength of 160 judges, while the Bombay High Court with an approved strength of 94 judges, had 31 posts lying vacant.

At the Calcutta High Court there were 41 vacancies against a sanctioned the strength of 72 judges while the Delhi High Court had vacant posts of 30 judges against the sanctioned strength of 60.
The Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana and Rajasthan high courts had vacancies of 24, 24, 39, 27 judges respectively.
The high courts of Sikkim, Manipur, and Meghalaya had no vacancy of judges.
Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju also informed Parliament that the high courts of Allahabad, Calcutta, Chattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh did not have a regular Chief Justice.
